This quirky bike shop, which doubles up as a restaurant and bar, is a big favourite in Malaga.
Located on the bustling Plaza Enrique García-Herrera, Recyclo Bike Café is a convenient meeting place as it is both in the city centre and close to all the bus stops and train stations.
Its outdoor terrace is fantastic on those summer evenings for a casual drink with friends but equally its air-conditioned and quirky interior is popular during the daytime, either as a spot to connect to Wi-Fi and get some work done, or to pick up anything from smoothies and fresh juices, to sandwiches and a full English breakfast.
The menú del día set menu is fantastic value and there is an abundance of vegetarian and vegan menu options.
Its wacky bicycle-themed interior is fun and inviting, which explains why the place is often packed, especially at night when it is a bustling hotspot with a fantastic selection of cocktails and beers.
Patrick Peckham, co-owner of Recyclo Bike Café, believes that “having a lot of vegetarian options is a must if you want to get young, alternative-thinking people in”.
Patrick modelled the Recyclo café on the trendy, environmentally conscious cafés that he frequented while living in Krakow and Berlin and has been pleasantly surprised with how business has gone since the café opened in 2014. “I thought it was just going to be a bar for me and my mates and it ended up turning into a really, really popular space. The kitchen obviously evolved very quickly because we had such high demand. We had to change everything and make it more efficient.”
Patrick and his sister also run the Gloria Hoyos café in Calle Carretería.
